Rauf, Billy Bowden dropped from ICC Elite Panel of Umpires

DUBAI: Pakistan's Asad Rauf, who is alleged to have had a role in IPL spot-fixing, was on Tuesday omitted from the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires,

ICC announced that two new umpires will join the Elite Panel - Australia's Paul Reiffel and England's Richard Illingworth (both former Test cricketers). They will replace Billy Bowden and Asad Rauf.

ICC, however, said that Rauf's omission from the panel had nothing to do with his name allegedly linked to spot-fixing.

Rauf was withdrawn by ICC from the Champions Trophy after he was alleged to have received gifts from Indian bookies during the sixth edition of IPL
